On the mount of crucifixion,
Fountains opened deep and wide;
Through the floodgates of God’s mercy
Flowed a vast and gracious tide.
Grace and love, like mighty rivers,
Poured incessant from above,
And Heav’n’s peace and perfect justice
Kissed a guilty world in love.

People talk of the sacrifice I have made in spending so much of my life in Africa. Can that be called a sacrifice which is simply paid back as a small part of a great debt owing to our God, which we can never repay? Is that a sacrifice which brings its own blest reward in healthful activity, the consciousness of doing good, peace of mind, and a bright hope of a glorious destiny hereafter? Away with the word in such a view and with such a thought! It is emphatically no sacrifice. Say rather it is a privilege. Anxiety, sickness, suffering, or danger now and then with a foregoing of the common conveniences and charities of this life, may make us pause and cause the spirit to waver and the soul to sink; but let this only be for a moment. All these are nothing when compared with the glory which shall be revealed in and for us. I never made a sacrifice.

You can tell the difference between what matters and doesn’t by the richness it brings to your heart. Lord, I sincerely ask you to help me to use the time I have on this world on what matters. In this regard, I want to be rich.

Problem is that people will go where they’re accepted, fear of getting rejected, that’s why when the church isn’t what they expected, plans change and the course gets redirected. Truth is that everyone says it’s a lot more safe to be here than there. Do we push or pull? Do we gravitate or re-navigate? Do we compel or repel? It’s hard to tell whether we save or we sell. I don’t know about you, but we gotta make it through. We gotta make it through.
